JOIN PALMETTO TRIBE ⋆
Palmetto Tribe is the leading youth and junior triathlon team in Charleston, South Carolina. Our athletes, ages 8 to 18, compete in swimming, biking, and running. We are an official USA Triathlon Certified Club and have a High Performance Team designation. As of 2024, Palmetto Tribe operates as a non-profit organization.

Our triathlon season begins on May 4th and ends on July 25th at the James Island County Youth Race. We support local races in Charleston and travel to compete in other states. In 2026, practices are on Mondays 6:45-8 PM, and Tuesdays/Thursdays 6 to 7:30 PM.

In 2026, most of our practices will be in Mount Pleasant and Downtown Charleston.
Monday night swim practices take place at the I’on Club in Mount Pleasant.
Tuesday + Thursday evening bike and run sessions will be held at Hampton Park in Charleston.

Our athletes range from 8 to 18 years old. Some are beginners, while others are experienced.
We practice as one team but split into smaller groups based on skill levels. Athletes with similar abilities swim, bike, and run together.
Whether you're preparing for your first triathlon or have completed ten, you'll find a group to train with.
